Scientific Case

X-ray microtomography will be used to follow the changes in microstructure of microporous ex-PTFE in situ. This will allow the mechanisms responsible for the auxetic response to be observed in three-dimensions for the first time.

Experiment Design

Open network of interconnected particles.

Smallest feature size: 5-10 microns
Pixel size/Resolution: 1 micron.
