Study on failure mechanism of composite tube

Scientific Case

Failure of composite tubes is of scientific and industrial research interest due to its extensive use to replace traditional metal and polymer tubes. This project aims to establish the relations between failure mechanisms and composite textile architecture for composite tubes by comparing traditional filament wound and novel braided structures. The composite tube samples will be loaded to different stress levels for ex-situ CT imaging.
