X-Ray Tomography of Bulk and Compacted Powders of L-Glutamic Acid

Scientific Case

The goal of this project is to further understand how organic crystalline materials consolidate to form powder beds which ultimately impacts on the ability of a material to form compacts; this is of particular importance to the Pharmaceutical industry where the ideal objective of many formulation routes is still through direct compression.

Experiment Design

The proposed experimental work would require 2 days beam time + 1 days for data analysis for 1 x bulk alpha powder sample, 1 x bulk beta sample and 1 x tablet.
